As President of the French Bridge Federation, I very much hope to be able to welcome your teams to the 2017 World Teams Championship in Lyon, France (12 - 26 August).
As well as the teams qualified for the Bermuda Bowl, Venice Cup and d’Orsi Seniors Trophy there is, of course, the World Open Transnational Teams event starting on Monday 21st August and we hope that you will encourage your members to form teams and participate in this enjoyable, exciting and challenging event.
In addition we will also have the pleasure of hosting the World Youth Championships, also during the second week of the event.
The venue for this great event will be Cité Internationale which is located between Parc de la Tête d’Or and the Rhône river with a large number of hotels nearby.
Attached please find the presentation of the Championships which includes a list of the hotels at which the French Federation has negotiated very good rates for the bridge players and officials coming to participate in the Championships. Please note that there is a list of hotels on the WBF Website where priority booking at the special rates can be made until 1^st November 2016.**
In addition, for the Youth Championship, we will shortly have list of hotels providing full board accommodation at an excellent rate. We feel sure that every national federation and player will find an hotel to suit them.
Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask Christine Francin who will do her best to help you.
I am looking forward to meet you in August 2017 in Lyon
Patrick Grenthe Président of the French Bridge Federation
